When you have to tell your 3rd grader, sorry honey, I guess you’re just going to have to call your Daddy, who’s halfway across the country on a business trip if you need help with that math homework…you’re dense. What can I say, I just can’t do math without getting a headache. Now, I don’t think this means I’ll have to send back my feminist membership card just yet. If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you can sympathize. There’s just no doubt, I am mathematically challenged. The problem is, I like making cool stuff and I also happen to be quite anal retentive in my own charming way (try to suspend your disbelief). I’m a huge fan of so many talented women out here doing their scrapping and stamping thing (or some combination thereof) and sharing it with the rest of us like-minded in cyberspace. One of my all-time favorites is Andrea Walford. If you’ve never seen her work, get thee to her sweet spot (http://andreawalford.com/).

She’s just always coming up with brilliant little goodies in the form of boxes and assorted 3-D items to hold her perfect cards. When you’ve really gone and done something so gorgeously creative, you just have to have just the right accoutrement to package it. So, I’ve decided to try and get around my obvious delay in spatial relations. After studying so many of Andrea’s wonderful creations, I noticed that when you get down to it, you can start with a square. I also have a great tip when trying to try a new template: Don’t get overwhelmed, do it on a smaller scale. Use whatever small scraps you have lying around so you don’t waste your good (read: SU) paper. As a scrapbooker for over 8 years, I have accumulated tons and tons of supplies. If you’re new to papercrafting, one of the best and cheapest things to pick up at your local craft store can be found in the scrapbooking section…Scrap Pack 1lb. cardstock for about $3. Score at 1” and 2”.

Hey, I just can’t seem to get enough.  I have an after-school scrapbook club of 3rd-5th grade girls (13 total).  I prepared some samples ahead of time and did the pre-cutting and scoring.  The girls loved the watercoloring and especially adding  glitter.  Just love froggy.  Adding the googlie-eyes is a must!   This is a perfect set for valentines.  Enjoy!

I really love this one.  I added lots of bling that I found at Walmart in the sewing section.  You can get a whole bag of the little adhesive-backed rhinestones for $2.  They have them in all colors and different sizes.  Have fun!

I just made these last week.  I cased the cupid poop poem from someone on SUDSOL.  I like how the candies are shaped like hearts.  I imagine if Cupid made a poop, it’d be heart shaped LOL.  I also love the new Happy Heart Day stamp set.  It’s so cute.  I am having a Mom & Me Valentine’s Day stamp-a-stack and I’m planning on using these as well as some new designs I’m working on.  Enjoy!

I made these valentines for my Brownie troop.   I found the poem in a catalog and just changed some of the words.  They are going to give them to kids they don’t know so they can make new friends.  It’s a part of our Friends are Fun badge.  The girls had a great time making them.  My 11-year old daughter copied some of the faces from a Pikachu game.  They came out really adorable.  Have fun!

Supplies:

Brown cardstock cut to 3.8″x5.5″ and scored in half.  1.5″ square punch, corner rounder punch, dimensionals, cellophane bags, tape runner, watercolor pencils, chalk.

I made these party favors for our annual New Year’s Eve party. The champagne glasses were for the adults. I filled the hats with horns, masks and blowouts for the kids. We got the champagne glasses for $2 each at Pier One. The champagne bucket candles were from the party store. I created the tags in Word..they are text boxes and I used the Stampin’ Up tag corner punch. I just love that punch….you can make any square or rectangle into a tag instantly! I downloaded a New Year’s font from the internet and used a thin glue pen with Stampin’ Up glitter on some of the letters to glam it up. We filled the glasses with some tinsel. Everyone loved them and a great time was had by all. I hope everyone had a great New Year! Thanks for stopping by.

I got this idea from the Stampers in Stitches shoebox swap in November. I just jazzed it up a bit with festive fonts. I made 76 (for each of my 3 kids classmates!). They went over so well, I got a request to make some more for my son’s teacher who also teaches Sunday school. They are adorable. Thanks for stopping by.

I cased this from SCS (sorry I don’t remember who originally created it). I made these as party favors for my family at our Hanukkah dinner. Everyone was so excited to get one. I love the Brilliant Blue designer series papers. They are perfect for Hanukkah colors. At my house, we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. We even have a tree decorated with Hanukkah ornaments.
